Hi all,
as wednesday was National Holiday, i took advantage to go on a 3-days break to BKK with 2 buddies. The holidays was cool and my interesting acquaintances happened to sleep with a different woman each night (no, no hookers as "those dont count, nor do those you've slept with before", to quote one of them).
I saw a friend i've met before and kept in touch (again, "that doesn't count") and met a new one. But by all means it was a standard, relaxing holiday and I eat inhuman amounts of food (check "La Piola restaurant, a must go for down-and-dirty binge-eating at reasonable prices..)
That said, we got back yesterday..i stayed in to recover and because today i wanted to study. And by lord i got fuckin madness to study..I'm doing ok covering the "normal" workload from the job (as usual, i hope)..but the side-course is harder and more timeconsuming than initially feared. I barely passed the first exam, and the shit ain't gonna get easier. Monastic life may await me..on top of that gotta do (luckily limited) house-shopping..
Onto contemporary events..I had the "pleasure" to read on thursday morning of the foiled plot in Britain. And the lawyer of those poor souls complaining that those sweethearts have "limited access to food, water" and are jailed "in a cold cell".
Perchance we can find them some liberals willing to house them at the 4 Seasons..i'm pretty sure there's one in London?

if Jawas was indeed meant to or actually does mean jews, then clearly this guy is an anti-semite just like Mel Gibson.
However, *I* am the guy who has been Israel's critic, calling them the agressor and whatnot. Please do not confuse my comments with the racist Jawa-hating individual from the last pot.
Even though Im not jewish, there are plenty of jewish people who have negative things to say about the way their country conducts its operations, and that is a testamanet (i hope) to the fact that criticizing Israel is not tantamount to criticizing the jewish people or being an anti-semite.

I said "their country", but i meant to say Israel. Most non-Israeli Jews probably don't recognize or call Israel "their country".

do you think Joe Lieberman would say the same thing about israel being his country? if so, do you think that it would be possible for him to objectively work for the good of the USA without letting the interests of his other country sway him? Or are American and Israeli strategic interests one in the same?
actually, whether or not he would call israel "his country" is really just an issue of symantics. We all know his hawkish middle-eastern views and his orthodox motives.
i know it seems like im obsessed with the subject, but i just follow the news, you know. by the way, you should know that my favorite US politician by a landslide is Russ Fiengold, my kind of man.

Absolutely. Many of us Moderate Centrists staunchly support Israel, the only Democracy in the Middle East (with Iraq, lol), without having direct roots to that. I also love japs though, so that may not make me "above interest".
